Return to Korea – Documentary

Director: Jun Cordon / Length: 52 min / Year: 2006 / Production: 29.11 Productions / Format: 4/3

Synopsis

Korea was my birthplace and so far away from where I grew up in France. In October 1975, I landed at Le Bourget in Paris at the age of two. 30 years later, I finally decided to go back and, over a period of 4 months, discover my Korean roots.

This film deals with adoption in Korea, as seen through my particular, dual perspective. It also presents differing views from people who have close ties with “the Land of the Morning Calm”.

The desire to discover (myself) was greater than anything else before I left. During my stay, I was able to interact with Koreans and people who have a particular connection to the country. The specific views of each of them allowed me to learn about Korea’s culture, customs, and history.

This documentary is not an autobiography; it is the result of a journey through life and of different perspectives along the way. It does not provide answers; it raises questions, arouses curiosity, and invites you to discover places that have aroused my feelings…
